As many of you already know, Scott Douglas, a longtime member of SMA and a professor at the University of Montana, suffered a debilitating stroke almost a year ago. As a result of the stroke Scott was paralyzed on one side for a period of time and suffers from aphasia. He has regained the use of his leg but still has limited use of one arm. He has undergone and continues to receive intensive speech therapy but his speech is still quite limited.
