CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: Faculty Consortium Co-Coordinator
The SMA Board is soliciting nominations for the appointed position of Faculty Consortium Co-Coordinator. This position involves a three-year commitment, because the Faculty Consortium is offered in alternating years. The appointee will serve as Co-coordinator along with the current Coordinator (Anson Seers) for the 2009 Faculty consortium. The following year, 2010, will be the “off” year, in which the Faculty Consortium will not be scheduled. The appointee will then become the Coordinator for the 2011 Faculty Consortium. Specific responsibilities are divided between the Coordinator and the Co-Coordinator, and include securing speakers and organizing the program, coordinating space needs with the program chair, recruiting participants, and coordinating registration with the SMA Treasurer.
The nominating committee, comprised of Hettie Richardson (Louisiana State University), Anson Seers (Virginia Commonwealth University), and Chris Shook (Auburn University), will apply the following criteria in recommending nominees for appointment by the Board:
- Contributions to the field of management, including respect and reputation among colleagues in the field.
- Involvement in past SMA activities and service, including reviewing papers, chairing sessions, presenting or discussing papers, and being a track chair.
- Reputation for conscientiousness and dependability.
- Experience as a faculty member.
You may nominate a colleague or self-nominate. However, if nominating a colleague, you must obtain the nominee’s agreement to be nominated. A complete application will include a vita and letter of nomination / application. Questions should be directed to Chris Shook, at shookcl@auburn.edu.
